Blooper is one of those characters that has a unique design like the Phillie Phanatic. Very Muppet-like! Now this makes him super fun to draw and when I received the teams photography of the character was very excited to get started creating poses for him that would work for their licensing program. He actually replaced the character “Homer the Brave” who I actually did work for.He was a good character I thought but in terms of creativity he actually looked like several other mascots in the league. He actually had a baseball head which made him look a little generic I thought. theBlooper character actually had a very unique look I thought and his game day antics caused the Atlanta fans to take to him quickly the same way I did! Usually when one mascot replaces another there are mixed reactions and it was the same with this one. However, over time he took his place and was embraced.
