I had experience with retro characters when I worked for a New York design studio early in my career. One of our clients was the United States Post Office and I did a pose of their mascot from the 30’s & 40’s. I also did a Calendar for the Spam mascot which you can see here. So, when I got this assignment from the twins I was ecstatic! First of all, It was historic. Second of all, it was a different style and sensibility. Learning to draw these characters was a gas! And creating the poses and doing the turn drawings was a pleasure!
